He founded and sold Kinnovations, a house wares manufacturing company, and was an aerodynamics engineer for Northrop.
Mr. King received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard in 1977 and a Bachelor of Science in aeronautics and astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1973.
