Ted serves as an advisor to ABS Capital’s portfolio companies.
He has over twenty years of experience in accounting, investment banking, finance, and consumer financial services.
Ted is a graduate of Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.
Immediately after college, he began his career with Arthur Anderson as a senior accountant in transaction advisory services.
He later held various posts in the Investment Banking industry with SunTrust Equitable Securities, Houlihan Lokey Howard and Zukin, and finally Stephens, Inc. where he worked extensively with companies engaged in non-depository financial services.
In March of 2006, Ted joined Checksmart Financial Company as chief financial officer and was later promoted, in June of 2008, to his current position as Chairman & CEO.
In April 2011, Community Choice Financial was created to offer hard working Americans a full range of financial services through the 525+ branch locations and on the web operated by its subsidiaries in over thirty states, employing over 3,000 associates.
As a direct result of his professional roles, Ted has been active in numerous state and federal political education efforts regarding the unbanked and underbanked consumers and the products available in the marketplace.
He serves on the board of CONN’S and is a senior advisor to MissionOG.
He is an active member in the national trade association, FISCA.
