The Group's principal activity is producing food and beverages and home and hardware products. It has 6 divisions specializing in the production of different food items. These divisions include a meat plant for producing frozen meat, ham, sausages and burger patties; a water plant for producing flavored-water and lemonade beverages; a bakery plant for making sliced-bread, bread rolls and other types of bread; a plant specializing in cakes and pastries; a specialty meals plant for food served in buffets and delicatessen; a plant producing tamales; and a plant dedicated for fruits and vegetables. Its major food brands include Carulla, Vivero, Merquefacil and Surtimax, which acts as distribution centers for their food products. Other products include electrical appliances, audio and video products, home and hardware products through its Home Mart brand.
