McGarvey has over 15 years of fixed income credit experience.
Her career has spanned the Corporate and Structured Credit sectors and she has held positions on both the buy and sell side.
She began her fixed income career as a corporate bond analyst in MetLife’s Fixed Income Investments Group (1992-2000) where she evaluated investments in the private placement and public bond markets.
As a lead analyst, Ms. McGarvey covered transactions in the retail, consumer products and industrial sectors and held positions of increasing responsibility.
Prior to her departure, she was a Director at MetLife and managed a significant component of the firm’s subordinated structured credit/ABS portfolio.
In 2000, Ms. McGarvey joined WestLB’s Portfolio Management group and was responsible for the firm’s CDO/CLO portfolio.
For the last five years She has held positions as a senior research analyst beginning in 2003 when she joined Merrill Lynch as a Director in their Fixed Income research group.
While at Merrill Lynch, she covered CDOs/CLOs and provided research on fixed income credit products for private clients.
Prior to joining CreditSights, from 2005-2008, Ms. McGarvey was a Senior Vice President at DBRS where she launched the firm’s U.S.
Structured Finance research effort.
Ms. McGarvey holds a B.S.B.A.
from Georgetown University and an MBA in Finance from New York University.
She holds the CFA designation and is also a member of the CFA Institute and New York Society of Security Analysts.
Prior to graduate school Ms. McGarvey was also a Certified Public Accountant at KPMG.
