Merchant Securities Ltd. (MSL) is the Great Britain-based brokerage and investment management subsidiary of Sanlam Securities UK Ltd., ultimately held by Sanlam Ltd. (JSE: SLM) in South Africa. The firm was established in 2009 when Merchant Securities Group Ltd. and John East & Partners Ltd. merged. Headquartered in London with an office in Manchester, MSL provides a full range of financial services including investment management, institutional research, trading, corporate finance and brokerage for a range of clients including small and mid-cap companies, high-net worth individuals, pension funds and trusts.

Merchant Securities Group Ltd. (MSG) is a subsidiary of Merchant John East Securities Ltd., itself a subsidiary of Merchant Securities Plc (LSE: MERC) in the UK. The firm was established in 1987 and provides investment services to high net-worth individuals, their businesses, pension funds and trusts. With offices in London and Leeds, MSG offers institutional clients trading services and access to investment opportunities through their corporate finance activities. For private clients, they aim to provide individually tailored portfolios of traditional equity products supplemented by specialist investments such as hedge funds, structured products and private equity. Finally, for UK small companies they provide corporate finance advisory services and sources of capital in the form of equity and debt.
