Olivier Protard is Managing Partner and invests in IT, with a strong focus on Internet and software.
He started with Sofinnova in 1989 and was one of the founding members of Sofinnova Partners in 1997.
Over the years, he has invested in many start-up projects, from micro-electronics to Internet portals.
He was the first investor in several successful Internet start-ups in the mid-nineties, including Nomade and Multimania.
He acted from seed-investor all the way to public listings in two recent success stories, VistaPrint in the US and Parrot in France.
As a young professional, before joining Sofinnova seventeen years ago, he worked as a junior management consultant in London and then as associate-editor of the French computer magazine Le Monde Informatique (IDG Communications Group).
He currently sits on the boards of Travel Meta Search, BeeWare, Qosmos, Volubill, Quescom and Sefas.
