Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank (Investment Portfolio) (Rentenbank-IP) is the investment portfolio division of government-owned Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank – Germany’s development agency for agribusiness and rural areas. It provides funding to banks involved in financing agriculture, its upstream and downstream sectors and rural areas. Headquartered in Frankfurt, Rentenbank-IP was founded in 1949 and raise funds for promotional lending through borrowings or the issuance of securities on domestic and international capital markets.

Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank operates as a development bank, which engages in the provision of financial and business development services for the agriculture and food industries. It operates through the following segments: Treasury Management, Promotional Activity, and Capital Investment. The Treasury Management segment shows the results of the Group’s liquidity supply and management. The Promotional Activity segment promotes investments in the agricultural sector and rural areas. The Capital Investment segment includes the investments of equity reported in the balance sheet and the investments of long-term provisions such as securities and promissory notes as well as in registered bonds issued by banks and public sector institutions. It offers loans for promotional purposes and assistance measures through banks; and short-term loans to pre-finance payments to farmers. The company was founded on May 11, 1949 and is headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany.
