GE Capital-PE calls themselves a hands-off manager which provides investee companies with support but does not interfere in their day-to-day management. They do not invest in companies in the real estate, financial service and 'New Economy' sectors. The firm seeks to invest EUR 3-50 million in companies with a leading market position, interesting opportunities for growth and value creation, strong entrepreneurial drive, proven industrial skills, a history of achievement, a willingness to participate in the transaction by investing their own resources, and a medium-term business strategy aimed to create value and summarized in a compelling and achievable business plan. GE Capital-PE generally takes minority or significant minority stakes in their investee companies and may also be part of a larger majority pool of financial investors. They partner with management, providing their financial knowledge through board participation. They generally hold an investment for three to five years.
