Mary MacDonald

Mary Macdonald is President and CEO of the firm.
She has followed the venture capital industry in Canada since 1985 and is recognized as an expert on its activity at home and abroad.
Senior representatives from the venture industry and from corporate, institutional, and government organizations turn to Mary for her views on the industry and future developments at home and abroad.
Ms Macdonald’s recent board positions include the National Broadband Task Force, University of Toronto Innovations Foundation and the e-Roundtable.
On several occasions, she has been called as an expert witness to appear before Senate Banking Committee and is often invited to speak at conferences focused on private equity financing and public policy.
Prior to establishing the firm, Mary was the founding President of Venture Economics Canada and Vice President - International for Boston-based Venture Economics Inc. She also had several years of experience as a consultant, both as a partner in a small firm and as a senior consultant with a national management-consulting firm.
Ms. Macdonald has been a member of the prestigious panel of judges for both the Ontario and National E & Y Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for the past two years.
Mary attained a BA Economics from Queen’s University.
