Dr. bin Mohamed Hussin obtained his graduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1978 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Strathclyde in 1973.
He later earned doctorate degrees from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2010 and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia in 2018.
