Dr. Claudio Raddatz Kiefer is Director of Financial Policy Division at Banco Central de Chile SA.
He was the Economic Research Manager of the Central Bank of Chile, since August 2011.Before joining the Central Bank of Chile, he worked as Research Economist (2003-2008) and Senior Economist (2008-2011) at the Macroeconomics and Development Unit of the Research Department at the World Bank.
Dr. Raddatz is Associate Professor of Macroeconomics and Finances of the Industrial Engineering Department at the Universidad de Chile and Associate Researcher of the Centro de Economía Aplicada (Center of Applied Economics) of the same university.
His investigations have been focused on the interaction among macroeconomics, finances and development, field in which he has a set of academic publications in prestigious international magazines and books.
Furthermore, he has participated as lecturer in numberless national and international conferences and seminars.
Additionally, he is associate editor of both the Economía magazine, published by the Latin American and Caribbean Economics Association, (Lacea), and of the Economía Chilena periodical.
He holds both an Business Engineer and a Master in Engineering Sciences degree from the Universidad de Chile, (University) and he holds a PhD degree in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in 2003.
