Sandy Thomson

Mr. Sandy Thomson is a Managing Director at Taconic Capital Advisors UK LLP.
He joined Taconic in September 2001 as a Principal and manages Taconic’s London office.
He is the Co-portfolio Manager for the Taconic Opportunity Funds.
Prior to joining Taconic, he spent eight years as Chairman and Managing General Partner of a private equity firm based in Hong Kong.
Before that, Mr. Thomson was Managing Director of Prudential Asia, the Asian private equity and corporate finance unit of Prudential Insurance Company of America.
He also spent ten years in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co., and was a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs Asia from 1986 to 1989.
Alexander Thomson is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Pantheon International Participations Plc.
Sandy Thomson graduated with First Class Honors in Law from the University of Zimbabwe in 1973, where he was the Law Society Prizewinner.
He was a Beit Fellow at Balliol College, Oxford University, where he received a post-graduate Degree in Law in 1976 and was awarded the Salomon and Commonwealth Scholarships.
