Previously he served as president & CEO of Classmates.com, a leader in online social networking and the 4th largest paid content site on the Internet at the time.
While president of Nordstrom.com, he helped lead a turnaround that resulted in its first quarterly profit.
In 1999 he founded LifeSketch.com, the first multi-functional scrapbooking site.
As president & CEO of Lands’ End Inc. the $1.4 billion, international retailer, he launched LandsEnd.com, the first major retail website and executed a company turnaround that led to record sales and profits.
He has served on multiple corporate and advisory boards and was most recently a board member of REI, the $1.9 billion outdoor retailer.
Smith is also an NACD Board Fellow.
