Michael Haanpaa

Mr. Haanpaa is responsible for sourcing opportunities, leading execution, and overseeing investments.
He serves on the board of directors of Control Solutions and on the deal team for M&R.
Prior to joining Corinthian Capital in 2022, he was a Principal on the investment team at Acacia Research Corp.
where he was an integral part of the sourcing and negotiating of several billion-dollar opportunities, focusing on industrials, business services, and mature technology in both the private and public markets.
From 2016 – 2020, he was a Vice President at Speyside Equity where he was focused on investing in middle market companies with global operations in the manufacturing, industrial, chemical, and business services industries.
Mr. Haanpaa specialized in companies at an inflection point and sat on six boards of directors.
Prior to Speyside, Mr. Haanpaa worked in investment banking at Stifel and Barclays, concentrating in mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financing and strategic alternatives.
He also gained operations experience at Chevron and a subsidiary of Maersk.
Mr. Haanpaa is a graduate of the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan (B.S.E.), the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University (M.B.A.) and the Mauer School of Law at Indiana University (J.D.).
