Mario Nicolaou

Mario Nicolaou is a Senior Fund Manager for F&C's Alternative Investment Team.
He joins F&C from L&C Asset Management where he worked since 2005 developing macroand technical strategies for the Fixed Income Hedge Fund.
Prior to this, Mario founded Trafalgar Asset Managers, where he ran a Macro hedge fund.
He previously worked at Landesbank Hessen Thuringen,(1989-2000) where he joined as the Head of Trading in 1989, responsible for all Fixed Income, Derivatives and FX trading.
Mario also headed up the proprietary trading desk managing all global trading risk across all products for the Bank after this was formed in 1996.Prior to this he worked at N.M Rothschild & Sons for 4 years in the Treasury division where he was in charge of the futures trading section.
His first appointment in the city from University was on the London Metal Exchange, where he worked for 3 years at AMT running the Aluminium book.
Mario holds a Bsc.(Hons.) from University College London.
