James W. McAleenan

Mr. James W.
McAleenan is a Managing Director at BNP Paribas (London Branch).
He was appointed Head of BNP Paribas Securities Services UK in May 2010 and shortly after took on the role of regional manager for the UK, the Middle East and South Africa.
Based in London, he is responsible for the global securities services activity in these locations and is a member of the BNP Paribas Securities Services executive committee.
He joined BNP Paribas in November 2007 as head of operations for the UK investor solutions division before becoming chief operating officer for the UK in January 2010.
Prior to joining BNP Paribas, he trained with KPMG and then went on to join JPMorgan where he worked for over 25 years.
He took on a number of operational roles including global operations manager for their derivatives business and in 2000, he became head of JPMorgan’s securities services business in Luxembourg.
Mr. McAleenan is a graduate of the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa and is a Qualified Chartered Accountant.
