Frederic L.
Atwood is a Director of Southside Hospital and the Bayard Cutting Arboretum.
He is a Member of the New York State Bar Association and the Suffolk County Bar Association, and a Trustee-Emeritus of Long Island Maritime Museum.
He is President of the Seatuck Environmental Association, Inc. and the Society for the Preservation of Long Island Antiquities.
Mr. Atwood was an Associate Attorney with Haight, Gardner, Poor & Havens and a Partner with Pelletreau & Pelletreau.
He served as United States Magistrate for the U.S.
District Court for the Eastern District of New York and as President of the National Council of U.S.
Magistrates.
Previously, Mr. Atwood was Chairman of the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council, Inc., Senior Warden of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Islip.
He received a degree from Princeton University and a Law degree from the Harvard Law School.
