The firm was founded in 1989 and is a subsidiary of State Street Global Advisors International Holdings, Inc., ultimately held by State Street Corp. (NYSE: STT) in the US. SSGA Australia provides integrated solutions that combine investment management, transition management, trust, custody, recordkeeping, and administration services for corporations, private and public pension plans, endowments and foundations, sovereign wealth funds, central banks and intermediary investors.

First Sentier Investors (Singapore) (FSI SG) is the investment subsidiary of First State Investment Holdings (Singapore), ultimately held by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. (TYO: 8306) in Japan. The firm was founded 1969 as CMG First State Singapore and became First State Investments (Singapore) in 2002. They changed its name to First Sentier Investors (Singapore) in 2020.
