Charles E.
Horton, Sr. founded Physicians for Peace in 1989 and currently serves as Chairman.
He is Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a Member of the Israeli, Jordanian, Syrian, South African, Canadian and Turkish Plastic Surgery Societies.
Previously, Dr. Horton was a Director of the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine, Associate Dean and a Director of Continuing Medical Education, Inc., Associate Dean of Clinical Science Relations and a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery.
He was appointed as Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in 1996.
Dr. Horton was Chairman of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, President of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Educational Foundation of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He received an MD from the University of Virginia.
