Kobayashi

He co-founded Blacksand Capital in 2010.
He is a Partner in Kobayashi Group, a real estate development and investment firm based in Honolulu, which he co-founded in 1996.
He serves on the board of directors for a number of public companies, including Hawaiian Electric Company and Hawaiian Tax-Free Trust.
In 2011, the late U.S.
Senator Daniel K.
Inouye appointed him to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Committee, where he served as co-chair of the Budget and Finance sub-committee.
In addition, he is Co-Chair of The East West Center Foundation, a board member of the Hawaii Community Foundation, a Trustee for Hanahau’oli School, and President of the Georgetown University Alumni Association in Hawaii.
He has 17 years of experience in private equity investment, real estate development and acquisitions, project origination, procurement of construction and permanent debt facilities, and subordinate/mezzanine financing.
Mr. Kobayashi graduated from Punahou School, Georgetown University’s School of Business with a major in International Business, and Georgetown University’s Law Center, where he earned a Juris Doctorate degree.
