Mr. Aluri S.
Rao has had over 13 years of organizational building and corporate experience before joining ICICI Venture in 2002.
At ICICI Venture he spearheads the Life sciences and Chemicals practice & focuses on the emerging biotech, pharma, healthcare and the enabling technology sectors.
His private equity experience has spanned from turning around startups, identifying innovative investment opportunities, investing in growth opportunities and executing successful exits.
At ICICI Venture, he has led several transactions like the buyout of allied Business of Ranbaxy Laboratories, the tie-up with Dr Reddy's and investments in Avasthagen, Malladi, Bharat Biotech, Metropolis Health and Onconova amongst others.
He serves as a member of the board on several of these portfolio companies.
His prior experience includes hands on experience at very senior levels in business development, mergers & acquisitions, P&L responsibility and Corporate Strategy in the pharmaceutical sector with large Indian companies like Ranbaxy and Natco Pharma.
His geographical experience includes India, UK, USA and many other International markets.
He is a Sloan fellow and has completed the one-year program in General Management from London Business School.
