Alan Smit

Smit has responsibility for all information technology activities and business system solutions for the Premera family of companies.
Prior to joining the company in June 1997, Smit served as vice president of corporate information systems with Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield in Richmond, Virginia, then a $2 billion health-care company.
Previously, he was a senior consulting manager with Accenture Anderson Consulting in Atlanta.
Smit holds an M.B.A.
from the University of South Dakota and a B.A.
from Augustana College.
He is a Certified Public Accountant.
