IBS : Successful go-live of IBS MES at Biodenta

Taipei and Shanghai, June 25th, 2014 : Biodenta Group is a fast growing company specialized in producing dental implants, related products and digital solutions for the dentistry community. Biodenta has three regional hubs in Berneck (Switzerland), Gaithersburg (USA) and Taipei (Taiwan) and operates a global distribution network.

In May 2013, Mediprecision Technologies (the production plant of Biodenta in Taiwan) started the implementation of the integrated IBS software for Quality and Production Control named CAQ=QSYS Professional and IBS:prisma. The software includes solutions for quality control of purchased material, of production processes and the acquisition of production related operational data. Prior to the implementation of CAQ=QSYS and IBS:prisma, inspection measurements and production quantity data were acquired and recorded manually. Biodenta recognized the need and benefit of implementing a state-of-the-art quality management system. The scalability of the IBS system ensures the production and quality processes in view of the rapid growth of Biodenta. David Eiler, General Manager of Mediprecision Technologies, explained, "With the IBS system we safeguard our processes and can demonstrate full compliance with the industry standards and regulations, all the while taking away a substantial burden from our employees in terms of manual reporting purposes."

Thanks to the IBS quality and production solution, measurement values are acquired by the system automatically in real-time, replacing paperwork and manual data acquisition, which saves both time and manual effort. It also allows quick detection of problems, fast reaction and a more effective monitoring platform for the management team. After just over 1 year of implementation and system validation, the go-live of the system marks the completion of the project and takes Biodenta to a higher automation level.
