Susan A. Schwartz

Susan’s invaluable perspective on the decision-making processes of ratings agencies influence our buy/sell decisions on a daily basis.
Her unique understanding of the world of municipal and credit analyses – specifically how rating agencies think and operate – helps our managers understand and anticipate those factors that are likely to trigger a ratings change.
Susan joined Boston Advisors following four years as the senior municipal research analyst for both trading and portfolio purchases at BayBank.
While there, she designed the rating process used by the Capital Markets Department and Fixed Income Management Group.
Following BayBank’s merger with BankBoston, she later moved to the Fixed Income Sales and Trading Department, where she continued her work as senior research analyst.
Prior to BayBank, Susan spent five years analyzing and rating municipal issues for Moody’s Public Finance Department.
Susan holds an A.B.
in Economics from Smith College and an M.B.A.
from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
