AlpInvest Partners, Inc. (AlpInvest) is the New York City private equity subsidiary of Netherlands-based AlpInvest Partners BV, ultimately held by The Carlyle Group LP (NASDAQ: CG). Established in 1999 as NIB Capital Private Equity, the firm became AlpInvest Partners in 2004. They were the first exclusive private equity manager for a public pension fund and invest worldwide across primary funds, secondaries, and direct investment (co-investment) channels, covering the entire private equity spectrum. In addition to the New York office, AlpInvest has offices in Amsterdam, Hong Kong and London. They are a socially responsible investor which works to promote sustainability and governance as an important factor in investment choices.
