Salah Mohamed Zaki

Mohamed Salah Zaki, MD is a retired Cardio-Vascular and Thoracic Surgeon.
He served as the Medical Director International Department at The Washington Hospital Center (part of the MedStar Healthcare) from 1995-2006.
He is currently the owner of several healthcare related businesses in the MENA Region and two high end clinics in the UAE.
Dr. Zaki brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and GCC Region ( MENA Region) healthcare and business savvy to Back Bay Group and its affiliates.
Dr. Zaki has been the advisor for the UAE Army medical services on management of UAE patients travelling overseas for medical treatment.
In 2002 and 2003, he worked as an advisor to the General Authority for Health Services for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and was a key player in revolutionizing and advancing the method of healthcare delivery in the UAE.
During the same time period, he was appointed the Medical Director of Al Mafraq Hospital (at 650 beds, the largest government hospital in Abu Dhabi).
In 2003 he became the Medical Director of the largest private hospital in the Middle East, built in collaboration with the US Department of Defense, taking the lead as head of the American (TAFT) team implementing US standards of healthcare in Egypt.
In 2009, Dr. Zaki was appointed by the U.S.
Embassy in Egypt as the official medical liaison during President Barack Obama’s visit to Egypt.
Dr. Zaki heads the US consultancy firm International Medical Consultants (IMC), founded in 1993, which has been engaged in various healthcare and project management consulting and advisory projects in Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the USA.
