Richard Baier

In his current role, Mr. Baier leads the Nebraska Bankers’ Association.
Previously, Mr. Baier served as Executive Vice President of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry, leading a new initiative focused on Nebraska’s long-term competitiveness.
Baier served eight plus years (for two different governors) as the Director of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.
Richard’s previous experience included serving as Executive Director of the Development Corporation of North Platte (NE) and Executive Vice President of the Greater York Area Chamber of Commerce/York County Development Corporation (NE).
He began his professional career as the Assistant City Administrator in La Vista, Nebraska.
A native of LaCrosse, Kansas, Baier holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Fort Hays State University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
