London Pensions Fund Authority (LPFA) was established in 1989 and is the designated administering authority of the Local Government Pension Scheme, which provides death and retirement benefits for employees working for not-for-profit, charity, private sector and local government employers, in addition to pensioners who worked for the Greater London Council and the Inner London Education Authority. In 2016 , the LPFA and the Lancashire County Pension Fund (LCPF) established the Local Pensions Partnership Ltd., an FCA authorized entity which allows LPFA and LCPF to pool their assets and benefit from joint management of investments and pension administration. LPFA is a shareholder partner of LPP. LFPA is a responsible investor which complies with and follows the principles of both the UK Stewardship Code and to the UN Principles of Responsible Investment, integrating ESG factors in their investment analysis and decision-making and actively using ownership rights in order to protect and enhance shareholder value, primarily through voting and engagement.

The Local Government Association is the national voice of local government in the UK. The non-profit company is based in London, UK and has subsidiaries in the United Kingdom. The British company works with councils to support, promote and improve local government. Mark Lloyd has been the CEO of the company since 2015.
