John E. Ezcurra

John joined TransMolecular in September 2004 and is responsible for leading and managing Process Development and CMC management initiatives.
Dr. Ezcurra brings to Transmolecular over 10 years of professional experience in process development, manufacturing and CMC management from several leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Prior to joining TransMolecular, from December 2001 to September 2004, Dr. Ezcurra served as a senior manager/senior scientist in process development at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. From March 1994 to December 2001, Dr. Ezcurra held various scientific and management positions in the area of Technical Operations and Manufacturing at Merck & Co. Prior to this, Dr. Ezcurra served as a research scientist from 1992 to 1994 at Eli Lilly & Company, where he directed his research activities in cancer discovery.
Dr. Ezcurra began his career at BASF Structural Materials in 1986 as a research scientist.
During his career at BASF Structural Materials, Dr. Ezcurra gained experience in formulation, refinement, scale-up and manufacturing of epoxy adhesives.
Dr. Ezcurra holds a PH.D.
in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the University of California and a Bachelor of Science degree from California State Polytechnic University.
