Mr. Jim Katzin is Founding Member & Chief Operating Officer at Avon Capital Advisors LLC.
He is founding member of the firm since June 2011.
Prior to that, he supported the research and trading operation of the Utilities Group at SAC for the past 13 years.
In that capacity, Mr. Katzin developed software systems to analyze and display financial data for stocks within the group's equity universe using real-time price feeds.
He was also responsible for maintaining several databases and other quantitative data.
From 1987 to 1997, Mr. Katzin was employed by Mark Fisher at MBF Clearing Corp where he developed and optimized a computerized model of Mr. Fisher's floor trading system.
Prior to working with MBF, he was manager of micro-computer software development for Walsh-Greenwood/Wang Financial where he developed several key components of the SHARK real-time pricing system.
Mr. Katzin received his BA from Oberlin College.
