Mr. Sakata joined Phoenix in November 2019 and is Managing Director, Japan Investments, in the Tokyo office.?Prior to joining Phoenix, he worked at Morgan Stanley Capital as an Executive Director covering acquisitions in Japan across the risk spectrum.?Over his 20-year career at Morgan Stanley, he has ample experience sourcing and executing various strategies across numerous sectors.
He has transacted on over US$ 10 billion in real estate acquisitions and has covered various asset classes.?Additionally, he not only has led traditional real estate acquisitions but, also, was responsible for more complex transactions which included distressed investments and non-performing loan workouts, corporate M&A, and publicly listed real estate securities.
Mr. Sakata holds a Bachelor Degree of Commerce from the Doshisha University and a Bachelor Degree of Finance from the University of Alabama.
