PRIMAlternative Investments SGR SpA (PRIMAI) is an alternative investment management firm located in Milan, Italy. Originally established as MPS Alternative Investments Sgr in 2002, the firm changed names to PRIMAlternative Investments SGR SpA in 2009. They specialize in speculative investments. PRIMAI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Prima SGR SpA, an independent asset management firm based in Milan. The parent firm was formerly known as Monte Paschi Asset Management SGR; they can trace their origins to the 2002 integration of Ducato Gestioni, Spazio Finanza and GI Gest. Listed between 2005 and 2009, the former Anima SGRpA was established in 1983 and was acquired by Banca Desio e Della Brianza SpA in 1999.
