Gary M. Quinzel

Mr. Gary M.
Quinzel, CFA MBA, is a Vice President & Chief Investment Officer at American Economic Planning Group, Inc. He has worked in the financial services industry for over 13 years in various roles developing a deep and broad exposure to the financial markets.
Mr. Quinzel joins AEPG in December 2016 from Merrill Lynch where most recently, he was the Senior Investment Analyst for a Private Banking & Investment Team located in New York.
Prior to that, from 2013 through 2015 he was an Investment Specialist within the Managed Solutions Group at Merrill.
There he provided portfolio construction and investment management advice and guidance to financial advisors and their clients.
He also provided investment manager coverage within the fixed income asset class for his team, where he focused his research on both taxable and tax-exempt fixed income investment managers offered through the firm’s Investment Advisory platform.
From 2006 through 2012, he worked in the Capital Markets Group, where he traded equities, as well as preferred and convertible securities.
In that role, he developed a broad knowledge of the various capital markets, including a deep understanding of electronic trading venues, algorithmic trading, and broker-dealer relations.
In addition, he traded securities for retail clients including venture capital participants and corporate executives.
His first role was a Portfolio Analyst as he performed several portfolio management roles for the Mutual Fund Advisor platform including orchestrating model changes and analyzing cash flows.
He earned his B.S.
in Business at the College of New Jersey and an M.B.A.
in Finance from Seton Hall University.
He also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2012.
Gary and his wife reside in Morris Township, NJ.
