Mr. Mata joined Cresta as an Operating Partner in 2023 with over 15 years of commercial development, M&A, strategy and finance experience in the energy industry.
Prior to joining Cresta, Mr. Mata was most recently an investor and Founder of Tatanka Midstream Management LLC and Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Pin Oak Group, a crude oil and naphtha export facility in Corpus Christi, with accountability for all areas of strategic growth including strategy and commercial and corporate development.
Mr. Mata has also held senior leadership roles at Oryx Midstream, Andeavor (formerly Tesoro), Blueknight Energy and Koch Industries, where he achieved transformational growth, supported growth initiatives and led commercial development and M&A activities for crude oil and natural gas gathering, transportation and terminalling assets.
Mr. Mata holds an M.B.A.
from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.S.
in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela.
He is also a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and is a CFA®? charterholder.
