GE Capital Interbanca SpA (Private Equity) (GE Capital-PE) formerly known as Interbanca SpA Equity Investment, is the Italian private equity division of Interbanca SpA, ultimately owned by General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) in the US. Established by Interbanca in 1997 to further develop their link with medium-sized Italian companies, they changed their name to GE Capital SpA Equity Investment in 2009. Based in Milan, the firm has developed business relationships with many prominent Italian and international private equity players. They participate in development and expansion capital transactions, competitor acquisitions and leveraged acquisition deals, with the exception of early-stage ventures and turnarounds.
