Edgar Carlson

As chief operating officer, Ed Carlson provides leadership, direction and oversight to all Trinity Health members to ensure that operations are consistent with the system's mission and core values, and operating and strategic plans.
Previously, Carlson joined Holy Cross Health System in 1998 as senior executive vice president/chief operating officer, where he facilitated the optimal operating effectiveness and strategic positioning of HCHS member organizations.
Prior to joining Holy Cross, Carlson spent 23 years in increasingly responsible roles at Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, including senior vice president-operations for Kaiser's southern California division.
Carlson completed the Stanford Executive Program in 1982, received his master's degree in hospital administration from the University of California at Berkeley, and his bachelor's degree in industrial administration from Yale University.
