Claudia Volk

Ms. Claudia Volk is a Senior Vice President-Methodology at Sustainalytics GmbH.
She is primarily responsible for the ESG Rating product, heading the ESG Rating team and serving as the product development lead and deputy product manager for the ESG Risk Ratings.
This includes the implementation and continued enhancement of the new framework that she has been co-developing since her transition to the Thematic Research & ESG rating team in 2015.
She is furthermore responsible for the documentation and ongoing communication with key stakeholders.
Currently, a key focus area is on further enhancing the ESG rating product and, in particular, the underlying exposure framework.
Before her transition to the ESG Rating team, she managed the Financials Research team, which comprised up to 10 analysts worldwide.
Leveraging her extensive experience in ESG Research and Financial Services, she was closely involved in improving Sustainalytics’ research products, contributing to the production of thematic research pieces, and supporting client services and management.
Finally, she oversees some local management and administration of the Frankfurt office.
Since 2002, she has been focusing on responsible investment and co-developed WestLB’s ESG product.
Before joining Sustainalytics, she worked for 15 years in the equity research department of WestLB, 12 years of that as an equity strategist and financial analyst.
She has an advanced degree in Economical Mathematics from the University of Bayreuth (Germany), has completed the EFFAS program, and holds the Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA) designation.
