Santander Asset Management UK Ltd. (SAM-UK) is an asset manager headquartered in Glasgow, UK. The firm was founded in 1987 and formerly known as Scottish Mutual Portfolio Managers Ltd. and Abbey National Asset Managers Ltd. They are a wholly-owned subsidiary of SAM Investment Holdings SL, owned by Banco Santander SA (NYSE, BME: SAN) in Spain. SAM-UK manages funds on behalf of other Santander group entities as well as retail investors. The firm also manages a small number of segregated corporate portfolios.

London Pensions Fund Authority (LPFA) was established in 1989 and is the designated administering authority of the Local Government Pension Scheme, which provides death and retirement benefits for employees working for not-for-profit, charity, private sector and local government employers, in addition to pensioners who worked for the Greater London Council and the Inner London Education Authority. In 2016 , the LPFA and the Lancashire County Pension Fund (LCPF) established the Local Pensions Partnership Ltd., an FCA authorized entity which allows LPFA and LCPF to pool their assets and benefit from joint management of investments and pension administration. LPFA is a shareholder partner of LPP.
