Melvin Davis

Mr. Davis joined Parish Capital® in March 2005.
Prior to joining Parish Capital®, Mr. Davis worked as a Deputy City Attorney in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.
In this role, he prosecuted misdemeanor crimes and participated in a multi-agency task force charged with pursuing civil and criminal remedies to address quality of life crimes within the city of Los Angeles.
Prior to the City Attorney’s Office, Mr. Davis worked as an associate in the corporate law practice of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP in Los Angeles where he represented many of the firm’s clients including Cook Inlet Region, Inc., Universal Studios, The Yucaipa Companies, and Berkshire Hathaway.
He began his career as a law clerk to the Honorable Emmet G.
Sullivan of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Mr. Davis received his BA in Political Science (Afro-American Studies minor) with Distinction and with Honors, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar and recipient of the Walter S.
Spearman Award as the University’s Outstanding Male Senior.
He also received his JD from Yale Law School.
