Marcel Olbert

Dr. Marcel Olbert is a Junior Research Associate at Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung GmbH.
He works in close cooperation with the research unit "Corporate Taxation and Public Finance".
He is an assistant professor of accounting at the London Business School.
His research interests focus on the real effects of corporate taxation and disclosure regulation.
He examines how multinational businesses respond to incentives that stem from their regulatory and macroeconomic environment.
Topics of his current work include financial distress and loss-carryforward rules, private equity buyouts, and Country-by-Country Reporting.
Previously, he was a research assistant at the University of Mannheim.
He received his PhD in 2020 under the supervision of Professor Christoph Spengel from the University of Mannheim.
He was a visiting PhD student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
