Formerly known as Fortis Insurance Belgium S.A./N.V., created in 2006 when Fortis AG and FB Assurances merged, the firm originated in 1824 as Assurances Générales. They changed their name to AG Insurance in 2009. In 2014, New York Life Investments acquired Dexia Asset Management and the firm changed their name to Candriam, which is an acronym of their core values: “Conviction and Responsibility in Asset Management”.
