Herring Creek Capital (HCC) manages a global, long/short equity investment strategy that focuses on identifying large investment themes and anomalies that will flow through to individual stock selection in liquid securities across the entire capitalization spectrum. The firm primarily invests in equity and equity-related securities of US and non-US issuers. Investments are selected based on a combination of top-down analysis of market themes and anomalies with bottom-up, individual security selection. HCC is a value investor. Their investment objective is to compound capital at above equity market rates, with lower than equity market volatility and risk of principal loss. HCC uses fundamental, quantitative and macro analysis to identify what they believe are the important themes and anomalies in the markets and then to systematically rank individual stocks on price to normalized (or mid-cycle) earnings to uncover what they believe are the most attractive securities. The HCC Funds may utilize both over-the-counter and exchange-traded instruments (including derivative instruments such as options, swaps and futures on equities and equity indices and other equity derivatives), and invest in the fixed-income markets. They may utilize leverage, including margin borrowing, in pursuit of their investment objective.
