Luis Oganes

Dr. Luis Oganes is a Global Head of Currencies, Emerging Markets at JPMorgan Securities Plc.
He manages teams of economists and strategists that analyze economic and political dynamics, and identify investment opportunities in sovereign debt, currencies and local bond markets in Emerging Asia, EMEA EM and Latin America.
He also drives the EM flagship publications.
Dr. Oganes previous professional engagements include teaching economics at New York University (1993-1997), and serving as a researcher at the Operations Evaluation Department of the World Bank (1994), and economic analyst at Grupo Apoyo, an economic think-tank in Lima, Peru (1989-1992).
He obtained his Ph.D.
in economics from New York University in 1998 and his B.A. in economics from Universidad de Lima in 1990.
