Mr. John H.
Pieper, CFA MBA, is a Managing Director at Logan Capital Management, Inc. since 2012.
Mr. Pieper began his investment management career in 1966 as a security analyst for Citibank in New York.
After serving for three years as an officer in the U.
S.
Army, he moved to Tampa and joined The First National Bank of Tampa (now Bank of America) where he served as a senior investment manager for personal trust accounts and employee benefit plans.
In 1983, he and William A.
Eickhoff, CFA, formed what is now known as EPW Investment Management, Inc.
Mr. Pieper served as a founding director of The Financial Analysts Society of Central Florida, which is now The Financial Analyst Society of Tampa Bay, Inc. He served as President of the Society in 1976-1977 and earned his Chartered Financial Analysts designation in 1976.
As a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research, he has served a number of national committees, including early efforts on behalf of AIMR to strengthen its Professional Conduct Program.
He currently sits on AIMR's Disciplinary Review Committee and is responsible for reviewing violations of AIMR's Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
In 1998, he represented small to medium size investment management firms on a "blue ribbon" committee formed by AIMR to define commission "soft-dollar" standards for the profession, standards that were eventually endorsed by the Securities and Exchange Commission for the industry as a whole.
Mr. Pieper holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Princeton University, a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business Administration, and he is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
