The company was founded by Bashir Rahemtulla in 1997 and is headquartered Toronto, Canada.

Founded in 2002, Mamurian has been one of the leading Korean fables companies in the growing semiconductor markets. Mamurian has made its steady and strenuous effort to take a great leap forward with the mission, mobile multimedia chip solution provider. After establishment on June 2002, Mamurian developed mobile video MPEG-4 chip supporting the world's largest image size (300K pixels) in 2003. In November 2004, Mamurian made a contract for supplying a mobile multimedia chip solution and developed ViDan3000 (MPEG-4 video codec, JPEG, and AMR speech codec chip) in accordance with the contract. ViDan3000 is taped-out on November, 2005 and is currently sold in the China mobile market. In addition to ViDan3000, Mamurian develops its own product line, ViDan3100/4100 that supports ISP and H.264 encoder. Mamurian also plays a role as a multimedia IP and system solutions provider as well as a full-chip design service provider.
